Up until I had a uti, followed by thrush, earlier this year, I could have sex normally. Since then (about 8 months ago) I have only managed to have full sex twice... Penetration is extremely painful, and during intercourse, no matter how much lubrication, I feel a contant burning pain and have to stop after about 3 minutes. The following morning I always develop uti like symptoms(stabbing pain during and after urination, stinging bladder, frequency, urgency), which aren't a uti because they vanish in a day or two.... I have no idea what this could be? The entrace to my urethra always seems to be hard a swollen, almost blocking the entrance to my vagina, hence the painful penetration. Any idea what this could be? My fiance and I are both very distressed about this. Please help.

September 9, 2011 - 4:47pmMake an appointment with your gynecologist as soon as possible. These symptoms are abnormal and have persisted for too long. The cause can only be determined with a physical examination, specifically a pelvic exam, and specific lab tests.
