For over 3 years now I have been having cramps and lower back pain days before, during and after my period. My period usually last for about 6 days.I have been to the doctor recently and was told that I have a small fibroids after doing an ultrasound.I don't think it's the fibroids because my period is not unusually heavy.the cramps would start like 3-4days before and during my period, and start again 3 days after it's finished and last up to 5 days without spotting .

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.
Cramps occur when your muscles contract to eliminate the uterine wall during your period. Cramps usually start a few days before the period because the contractions help start the expulsion process. Everyone can experience cramps no matter how heavy or light the period.

The cramps 3 days after your period has ended however is not normal. The fibroids probably play a large role in this.
