Q:

Why do I have two toe nails on one toe

It's not like one nail growing on the first nail, it's two separate nails. The one on the left is a small rectangul and the one on the right is a smaller dot. Does this have a name or do I need surgery?

Hi, Anon.

Thank you for contacting us.

It's possible a ridge in your nail caused a separation. I assume this is something new, and not something you have always had? I would see a dermatologist if you are concerned. There is a similar thread/discussion about this on our EmpowHER site if you like to browse there as well.

I've had two nails for as long as I can remember. And also the actual toe is unusually wide at the top.
