It sounds like you are referring to the two conditions:
- nearsightedness (myopia)
- farsightedness (hyperopia)
And you want to know the best treatment options for nearsightedness, as well as why it is recommended that you have LASIK to repair your myopia?

LASIK/LASEK may a better option for patients who have milder forms of myopia, but you can read the many different options for treatment at: Nearsightedness and Farsightedness.
