Why have i been on my period for 3 weeks?

I started my period on a sunday and thats when i started taking Beyaz birth control. Im still taking it almost finished the first month, and my period is still going..Its been constant spotting and sometimes heavy. I thought i was off it one day but it came back the next. I dont know what to do because my gyn doesnt come back till August 14 what do i do? is this normal for first time birth control user?

You can become anemic because you are bleeding for so long. Anemia is a condition in which there are not enough red blood cells in your body. By going to see the doctor, you can find out the cause. The doctor may do a blood test to check for anemia or to check your hormone levels. The prick and pain of a needle will last a few seconds. Please get checked out:)

I did some research on Beyaz. Though menstrual irregularities are a side effect of this oral contraceptive, a period that lasts for 3 weeks is abnormal and needs to be evaluated by a gynecologist. There should be another gynecologist who is covering the practice while your doctor is away. Call your doctor's office right away to be evaluated by the covering physician.
