Anonymous December 3, 2010 - 8:27pm hey iam 28 yrs old and i have had constant uti's since i was little its every week that i have one and from all the antibiotics ive been on my life i now have ulceritive colitis, that was caused by the antibiotics. I really rarley get a day that i feel good and have energy and iam only 28 and i have three children , it takes so much time away from them cause mommy's always sick i feel so depressed, iam tierd of getting sick all the time. please if some one else can give me some pointers or some advice i would appreciate it, i cant count how many times ive been in the hospital for days really sick from kidney infections, and now three times this year with ulcertive colitis and uti's...please help!!!!! *jessica*

Once you know the underlying causes, and have talked with your doctors about this (you may already have, but did not write about it), please let us know what tests have been conducted, what your doctor's have said about underlying causes and treatments you have tried. (from when you were 5 years old, and now that you are 28 years old).

Can you tell us more about the underlying causes of your repeated UTIs and other conditions? Have your doctors run tests, and if so, what types and what were the results?
Some conditions can be linked to antibiotics (killing the "good bacteria" along with the "bad bacteria"), but it is important to rule-out other causes. Why did you begin taking antibiotics in the first place (when you were 5 years old)...were these all for recurrent UTIs? If so, what was the reason for your recurrent UTIs that young?

I started taking antibiotics when i was 5 was when i had a bad kidey infection that lead to being in the hospital, after that i been on them mostly for uti's and now the uc it has caused, i had seen a urolisgist when i was little but it has been so long my docter wants me to go back to one, so i need insurance at the time so ill get the tests done then i guess. i dont know why i get them so much i have been to the docter when i was sick with them , i guess i need to take better care of myself, but why i get them i dont know why either dose the docter. And killing the bad and good bacteria that is right thats what the docter told me in the hospital when i had the ulcertive colitis.
