According to a recent survey conducted by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Macau is the top country/region for life expectancy at birth with an average of 84.36 years,[74] while its infant mortality rate ranks among the lowest in the world.

Do you have any information, studies explaining what are the factors that contribute to Macau’s long life expectancy (nutrition, exercise, work, climate, etc.)?

Small countries such as Macau have higher life expectancy due to many reasons
1. Risk for death in working group (age 15-64) is relative low (less traffic accident, homicide, suicide, fatal work accident)
2.Small countries usually also a safe haven tax

Hi Samurai,

Thank you for your question. This took a little searching for information but hopefully this will give you a little something to read. I am providing one link which is to the National Institute on Aging which can be referenced here http://www.nia.nih.gov/.

Another informational site specific to the region of Macau can be found here http://www.umac.mo/dc/dissertation/dissertation_PDF/fba/mba%28ms%29/mba_ms_076.pdf.

This website provides a sleuth of information about the region including disease and so forth. I hope this helps answer your question.
