Hi Anon,

Thank you for reaching out to EmpowHER with your question! Could you please elaborate what you mean by "period prblm"? Do you mean to say that your period has been irregular or is occurring more often than once every 28 days?

Irregular periods can be caused by a variety of things including:

  • significant weight loss or weight gain
  • smoking
  • using drugs
  • high stress levels
  • eating disorders
  • over-exercising
  • medications
  • chemotherapy
  • drinking high amounts of alcohol
  • high caffeine intake

However, if you are concerned about pregnancy, you do not need to worry. From what you described, you are not engaging in actual intercourse and intercourse must occur to become pregnant. If you do plan on being sexually active, it is important to use protection if you do not want to become pregnant right now.

I hope this helped! Here is a question in our community about irregular periods that may be helpful: https://www.empowher.com/community/ask/i-have-irregular-period-normal. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Best,
Erin
