A urine culture is done to determine the specific bacteria that is responsible for the urinary tract infection. If you have had a urine culture done, then the bacteria was identified and is not unknown.

Can you actually see the blood in your urine or was it found on a urine test?

There are two types of blood in urine. Blood that you can see is called gross hematuria. Urinary blood that's visible only under a microscope is known as microscopic hematuria and is found when your doctor tests your urine.

A urinary tract infection and a kidney infection are two causes of bacteria and blood in the urine.

Are you being treated for this problem?
