I am a 30 y.o. female with no family history of breast cancer. I found a lump in my right breast a short while ago. Over the next few weeks I had 2 sets of mammograms and an ultrasound done. I called my gyn daily to get the results of the tests, and when they finally came in the FNP returned my call. She stated that it was benign, and when I questioned her further she said it was an enlarged lymph node. Not being a pushy person, and I didn't really have any questions prepared for this scenario I let it go and hung up. Now I can't find any info online for why I would have an enlarged lymph node in my breast. From what I'm finding it must not be a common place, because I have yet to find anything.
So, my question is...Is this something that should be further tested? It is still the same size as when I found it about a month and a half ago. The only other symptom I am having is that occasionally my breast will ache slightly. It's usually only for a few seconds and it quits. It occurs maybe 1-2 times a day.

I also have an enlarged lymph node in my left breast, and right before my period it does get a bit swollen and tender. I've had multiple ultrasounds and mammo's and the doctors all said it was just that and I shouldn't worry about it. I am 45 and perimenopausal. I am sure it has something to do with the hormones. It was suggested I start taking primrose oil for the pain and I did and noticed the pain and swelling was a lot less. The doctor also said that because my breasts were mostly fat, which is a good thing, it's less likey to be cancer.

I too have experienced enlarged lymph nodes in my left breast mainly ... started a couple years ago; had mamogram which showed enlarged lymph nodes. My OBGYN advised ultrasound and then followed up with actual Breast Surgeon. She said she didn't see anything to be concerned about and suggested PRIMROSE OIL also. however, she said it could take up to two months to see any positive results from taking it. She also asked me to analyze how much caffeine I drank and any other foods to connect the dots. So far, I've found no connection to caffeine. But what's annoying is that it went away for more than a year, and then all of a sudden came back. Now my breast feel so sore and enlarged overall, it worries me. But when I read difference websites like this, it makes me feel better since I'm seeing similar situations and doctor suggestions. so frustrating though.

I was also diagnosed with hoshimotos and had a total thyroidectamy..had my first mammogram left side was normal but right side my lymph node was on the side of my breast instead of under my armpit.... anyone ever hear of that??? She said don't be alarmed that it is not cancer...but said my Dr. will call me..i have pains in that area around the time of my period...

Hi, I noticed that a week before my period, there was a very small drop of blood coming from my right breast. Last Dec 2011, I experienced the same and saw my OB. She examined it and said it was just a crack due to dryness or something rough rubbed it. She asked me to treat it with petroleum jelly. It healed actually. But everytime i am about to have my period, I experienced a little tingling sensation on my right nipple then a week before my last period, I noticed a very small drop of blood from the said nipple. I can also feel something from my right breast, my OB said it is just a lymph node but I noticed it is larger that my left. Is it normal? I am 42 and somebody said that it might be hormonal. What other test do I have to take? I already undergo Mammo and Ultrasound, and I was advised of FNAB or repeat the test after 6 months. What would be the best thing to do?

I am a 32 year old female.. I just recently discovered numerous lumps in my breat, groin, axillary and antecubital areas.. Needless to say, I'm scared out of my mind.. I just had blood drawn yesterday for testing.. I don't even have a slight cold, this is what concerns me.. None of them are painful.. I discovered them almost my accident.. They are all small my doctor said, about 1cm...Which, he says is a good sign.. I guess I'm just looking or hoping that someone has had this same thing and it's not cancer.. Although, there isn't a family history of breast cancer, my mother did pass from acute leaukemia 2.5 yrs ago...

Hello, I have an enlarged lymph node in my breast and it has been the same size for over a year and a half. The Radiologist and my Primary Physician say there is nothing to worry about since I do not have any other symptoms. It is very frustrating because I do occasionally experience pain and before my period, I swear it gets bigger, but I was told it is only because the breasts are more tender at this time. I will continue to try and find more answers. I'm glad to know I am not the only one out there with this condition.

hi i check my breast my right hand and breast i have pain and i see look like milk but lighter came out im so worry b/c my friend told it doesnt have leak.

Just got back from the ultrasound and meeting with the breast cancer surgeon (both appointments already scheduled). The ultrasound was first and a doctor with 20 years experience perfomed the ultrasound. She said she only saw normal lymph nodes. I was thrilled. Then we went to see the breast cancer surgeon and she agreed that it appeared to be just lymph nodes, but she wants me to watch it for a few months and then come back in and let her make sure it hasn't changed at all. She actually scared me a little because she had a sort of skeptical look on her face the whole time...but when I specifically asked her if I had anything to worry about she said that my lymph nodes are not even enlarged, they are less than 1cm big, and as long as they don't change, it's all perfectly normal....I just don't want to go back, or have to worry about it...but I guess I should count my blessings!! If there's no change in 3 months, I'll be home free.

January 6, 2012 - 9:23pmI am glad you posted this I am going through the exact same thing I am 35 and I requested a mammogram, mine too came back normal and I have three lymph nodes, two in my left breast and one in my right. I am experiencing the same kind of pain and it seems to be getting a liitle more intense but I was told nothing was wrong.If you get answers please post again to tell about it
