Q:

Will I become infertile after taking Plan B?

I have used Plan B twice in the last year. I took it once after my bf and I had unprotected humping (not sex...just outer rubbing of genitals) and about a MONTH after that because of a similar situation. I was wondering if taking Plan B causes infertility? I am very scared it will because I really want to have kids in the future. I have started taking regular birth control now but I am afraid the Plan B will have serious consequences.

Thanks

No, Plan B does not cause infertility. The drugs in Plan B are the same hormones that are found in many types of birth control, just at a higher dose. Plan B also does not terminate an existing pregnancy; same as birth control pills.

You would only need to take Plan B if you missed pills, while on the birth control pill, not as a double back-up...that is a lot of hormones in your system that could cause changes in your period, or spotting in-between periods.
