Q:

Wondering what my chances are of being pregnant

I'm on the mini pill jolivette for birth control and I usually take it at 10pm every night. I took it last night on time and then this morning me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex. However, tonight I forgot to take it until 1:10am which is 10 minutes past the 3 hour threshold I have for that pill. I'm wondering how likely it is that I could get pregnant and also if missing the three hour threshold by 10 minutes means I need to use a back-up method for the next 2 days?

Hi, Anon.

Thank you for your message.

I don't think 10 mins will put you at a very high risk, but just to be safe, use a backup BC method if you do have sex for a few days. Better to err on the safer side.
