Yeast Infection? Or Worse??

I've never had a yeast infection and I am almost 30. I have had Bacterial Vaginosis after giving birth to our 2nd son almost 2 years ago. The other night after intercourse with my husband there was cottage cheese discharge. Never happened before. My sister advised me to buy Monistat 1. So I did . I took it Sunday night. It is now 2 days after the Monistat and when I used the bathroom and wiped, there was a thick cottage cheese discharge again. We have not had intercourse since Saturday night. Is this normal after using the Monistat or should I make an appointment??

Hi no2april

Thanks for your post!

What you are describing sounds like a yeast infection but although one-time over-the-counter medications work well, they don't work in one day - they take several days so your body may still need more time.

Also, since you have never had one before, it's advisable to see a doctor to make sure you have a yeast infection and not anything else.
