But what are Hot Flash Hands??? As I spent my first 10 years of perimenopause symptoms (started with hotflashes at age 37...now 50:), I scoured books, articles, websites....whatever and whoever searching for answers to the many questions about menopause. I finally compiled much of the information I found helpful, in laymens terms since so much was medical jargon, and after trying many of the alternative treatments myself I put together a website with all of this to make it simple for those searching answers with little time to do it....www.MenopauseMayhem.com. HRT or BioIdentials may be best for some, but I want people to know that there are many other options....simple, alternative methods that can make your day with one hotflash less or 30 more minutes of sleep well worth it! I can't however find any reference to my 'hot flash hands'! Yes,on the edge of menopause itself, the hotflashes that I've eliminated elsewhere appear to occur frequently in the palms of my hands...a not totally unpleasant and certainly tolerable symptom in comparison to the previous flushes and flashes, but still annoying. Anyone have information on this? Julie Hewitt

hands, feet, face, neck...just fan!

Hi Julie! I have been a hot flash sufferer for 11 years now and nothing works like fanning! I believe in this so much that I invested my entire 401K plus alot of hard work, sweat, and tears into reinvented the hand helf fan for the modern woman. It's safe, natural, portable, affordable, and really, really works...which is the whole point! Fanning instantly relieves a hot flash by moving the perspiration away from the skin providing instant relief. There's a reason women (and men) have been fanning for centuries. Try it...you'll like it! If you want to check out my fans in particular I'm at www.flashinfannye.com
Thanks for all your great info on your site. I will be back over and over and tell all my friends.

hot flash hands cause mayhem

Hi Julie,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. Hot flash hands are not that uncommon, at least not in my case! I have experienced the same thing--they used to frequently perspire (fortunately, they don't do this anymore). Clearly, that is due to me getting my hormones balanced. I'm going to go check out your site: www.menopausemayhem.com; I'm anxious to see what options and alternatives your site provides, as it may be very helpful to our women who are suffering in not just their hands, but with hot flashes and night sweats in general. All I can tell you is that once I got my own hormones in balance, I know longer had that annoying sweaty palms syndrome. I'm always amazed at how many women will have similar but yet different symptoms, like this one. For example, I just had a woman post that she has Burning Tongue Syndrome, which is also due to menopause. Let me do some checking to see if I can find any other information about hot flash hands. I'm wondering if there isn't a cream or a gel or something that can at least help your symptoms, but more importantly, are you having any other symptoms besides the palms of your hands? Because this will be a tell-tale sign that you might not have your hormones totally in balance yet. Let me check it out and get back to you, and also I'd like to talk to you more about your site. It is interesting that Julie in the post above has come up with a fan in the post above this one--it is amazing what we will come up with to stop the heat!! While I'm thinking about it, Dr. Mao talks about hot flashes actually being associated with your thyroid. Have you checked into other thyroid symptoms besides the normal/typical symptoms you would have? I know I did a podcast with Dr. Mao but I don't think it's up on the site yet. As soon as it is, we'll let you know. I found what he said to be very interesting. Best in health, Michelle
