My family and I are visiting my parents this week, and I noticed a lot of cute "jokes" around the house, in the form of refrigerator magnets, pot holders, small plaques on bookcases and hanging on walls, that all have a similar message. Here is just a sampling:
"I love to cook with wine...sometimes I even put it in the food."
"Beer: so much more than a breakfast drink."
...and my favorite...
"The problem with the world is everyone is a few drinks behind me."

My caffeine consumption is fairly limited, usually to 2-3 cups over the weekend when my darling groom is home. But, I do know what caffeine withdrawal feels like, as I used to drink a ridiculous amount of coffee before quitting, then allowing myself the weekend cups.
Do you think a person can be addicted to caffeine, and do you think it goes hand in hand with another addiction, like nicotine?

Do you know someone who has an "addictive personality"? Is there such a thing, and if so, is it genetic or does something in the environment influence an entire personality ?
Such an interesting topic, because addiction could be related to so many different behaviors: alcohol, sex, shopping, food, nicotine, other drugs, gambling....
