VIDEO - HERSTORY: Cyndie Shares When She First Realized She Had A Weight Problem

Cyndie introduces herself and explains when she first understood that she had a weight problem.

Cyndie:
Hi, my name is Cindy. I am a patient of Dr. Dahiya’s. I have lost 81 pounds in four and a half months, and I would like to share my story with you.

I first realized I had a weight problem when I was about 10 years old. I think pre-puberty is what kicked it in. My father’s side of the family is large, my mother’s side is not, and I got my father’s genetics.

All my life I have always consistently gained weight through the years, through teenage years, on through marriage, on through childbirth, giving, you know, my children. And I have wanted to have gastric bypass surgery for many years, but I was always a stay-at-home wife and mother and did not have the means to have the surgery done.

When I became employed, which the reason I became employed was because I wanted to have the surgery. So, I worked for three years until I was able to get the surgery, and here I am.
