VIDEO - HERSTORY: Kristian Shares Her Concern About Uterine Fibroids

June 25, 2009 - 1:30pm 62 reads 0 comments

Kristian recalls her main concern when diagnosed with uterine fibroids.

Kristian:
At the time, it probably was infertility. I’d need to get a hysterectomy and that, you know, the chances of me ever having a child were probably nothing, you know, my own children.

So just someone telling me that, "Oh, you cannot have children. You have fibroids," or "You have to have a hysterectomy." Not knowing that there weren’t any options for someone in my position and that that’s why I became proactive because I knew there had to be something.

So, just being able to digest that and to take that information and not, just not being able to do anything about it; the feeling of loss, a sense of loss, actually.
