"You live longer once you realize that any time spent being unhappy is wasted". I read this quote a few years ago but the true meaning did not register until after the birth of my daughter, during a time when I was close to depression. I had had a difficult pregnancy, with many health complications and had gained a lot of weight that looked even worse on my short frame. I was exhausted and emotional and to make matters worse, I felt weak and unattractive. I didn't even want people to see me because I didn't feel like myself.
I have always been a fan of Beachbody programs and had done Insanity and P90X in the past. These programs are life savers when you are a busy mom (no need to get someone to watch your child...you can do it right from the comfort of your own home while baby is napping!) and I pulled out my old copies and got started on my transformation. Now, I feel better than I did before and I will never look back. I now have a fitness mission statement: I will strive to be a healthier and fit version of myself through daily clean eating and exercise. I will grow stronger and healthier by taking actions that will bring me closer to what I want most than what I want now. I will work towards reaching my full potential and inspire others to do the same.
I will continue to change and transform my body and be an example for my daughter. She is my motivation...I want her to grow up watching her fit, healthy and confident mom help others achieve their health and fitness goals. I want her to grow up with a positive self image.
I learned so much about health and fitness in the last year and half. I am now a NASM certified personal trainer and fitness coach helping others that maybe struggling like I was before.
