In addition to their newsmagazine and website, it seems like we can always count on U.S. News & World Report to use their resources to rank something of crucial interest to us, whether it's universities, towns or medical facilities.
If you or a friend or family member is dealing with diabetes or another endocrine disorder, you'll be interested in their ranking of the best hospitals for treating those conditions.
The rankings list 1,000 hospitals and there is an expanded search that takes that list to 5,000. The top 50 are listed here:
http://health.usnews.com/health/best-hospitals/diabetes-and-endocrine-disorders-hospital-rankings/
Who are the top 10?
1. Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.
2. Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston
3. Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore
4. University of California, San Francisco Medical Center
5. New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell
6. Cleveland Clinic
7. Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston
8. Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles
9. Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Conn.
10. Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia
That's an awful lot of East Coast-West Coast, isn't it? But there's also a box where you can search by state, in case you'd like to see how your local facilities add up.

I was really disappointed that Austin, TX was not to be found in the top listings for this particular field. I guess we focus on cardiology, cancer and children's issues...lots of "C's" there.
