share: Better sex after menopause
I recently changed gynecologists and learned something new to me. She said to use a long-acting lubricant such as Replens at bedtime every three days, otherwise the dryness will cause irreversible changes, making sex and pap smears more painful. I thought I was pretty well-informed, but I did not know about this.
K-Y makes a product, too; I think it's called Ovule. It is a suppository, but it only comes with applicators, which end up in the landfill.

Hi There,
Thanks, for the great information about long-acting lubricants after menopause. I had no idea! Also, I love your idea of "going green" by getting rid of the plastic applicators.

Thanks so much for this SHARE. You may have helped many women by letting us know your findings, as I also was unaware of this option.
I couldn't agree more about suppositories! Less waste, and possibly less cost to the consumer.
Please come by anytime to share more of your information and hopefully you might come across some shares that can help you too!
May 3, 2009 - 5:42pmI had no idea either that vaginal dryness could lead to irreversible changes. That's really good to know. Thanks so much for sharing that with us!
