I had a Caesarian with my first child, so we were all prepared for a Caesarian with the second. The day before, the doctor said "The head's down; she's ready." He and I were positive about an early morning surgery (including a tubal and a hernia repair), so things were supposedly going to go very smoothly.
My first clue was that the spinal was not quite working. "Move your toes," said the anaestesiologist. I did with ease, and got the "Hmmmm..." I'm still not sure if I got the dosage I necessary for the surgery, because believe me, I felt it. At least he eased my nausea in a flash and gave me a "margarita" after the surgery.
My screaming precious baby was born and I haven't looked back...except to laugh. God gives you the ability to laugh at trauma afterward, especially when there is such a reward.

Congratulations! Although we sometimes go through very traumatic birthing experiences, the reward that comes from it is entirely worth it.
My son was born via natural delivery but I must say-- I think I could do without my blood pressure suddenly rising and having to get boluses of mag sulfate--yikes that makes you sweat!
I'm sorry you felt it, I can imagine that must be a VERY uncomfortable feeling to say the least... and I am still laughing about your "nevermind, lets do this later" comment :-)

Congratulations on your happy reward for all that trauma!
I had 2 C-sections following the worst natural labor in history (okay, I'm exaggerating, but any woman who has gone through 20+ hours is allowed). The C-sections were to avoid just the sort of experience you had with your second birth, LOL! Well, actually, we found out the hard way that it was the better choice for me, physically.
What is it about the childbirth process that makes it so funny, afterwards?

My first was after 27 hours of labor. I'm with you! Which was worse? I asked my husband that question;he said it was a toss-up. I don't remember which is worse now. Like I said, I can now just tell my story and laugh about it. I guess God gives us the ability to find the humor of predicaments after the pain.

20 hours? I was in labor for 9 hours and spent the first 4 yelling at my husband-- LOL
You are right about our process being funny afterwards, my husband turned my not so nice side into a joke...we also get delivery amnesia-- otherwise I think the majority of families would only have 1 child.
