share: Chronic breast absecess's, dr. can't find answers.
It started over a year ago I had pain in my left breast, it came and went for a couple of days, I went to the dr. and she thought it was mastitis even though I was 40 and all my kids are adults. We tried several different antibiotics, none of them worked so she sent me to a breast specialist, they did mamograms, biopsy's, antibiotics, finally after no response to any of this she did surgery, thought that would be the end, nope had 2 more surgery's, I am still having abscess after abscess, while visiting my daughter in TN my last day there another abscess burst and I ended up in urgent care, the following day I went home, saw my dr. she said it looked like it was healing good, had a appt. the following week for a follow up, 2 days before my appt. another abscess burst and I ended up in the er where they had to cut me open again to drain out the fluid, which this time had a horrible oder to it, saw my dr. 2 days later and she had to do 2 punch biopsy's in the wound itself, a infectious disease dr. thinks it might be a form of tb of the skin so I will find out this Thursday, if the test comes back positive then I would go on a specail antibiotic for a year and that should cure it, if it comes back neg then they are talking about a mastectomy, now mind you this is not cancer but it just won't stop. I am so frustrated and depressed cause 90 percent of the time I am in pain and I am continuously draining, enough is enough and I can't seem to get any answers and I am driving myself crazy goggling this. Anyone else out there ever had this problem or know someon who did. Thanks

Hi Anonymous
Thank you for your SHARE. Your ordeal is stunning to just read so I can only imagine what you are really going through yourself, physically and emotionally.
I am very interested to know how the tests come back and if you have what they think you may have. Will you let us know?
I do not know anyone myself who has suffered from this but hopefully someone who has will read this and give you some input. I hope to hear back from you soon and our very best for Thursdays appointment!
