Christmas Eve, 2009-
A woman in labor in a Colorado Springs, Colorado hospital suddenly suffered a heart attack and died while giving birth to her baby son, Coltyn. Her son appeared to die within minutes after being born via an emergency c-section.
Tracy Hermanstorfer was not breathing, had no heart beat nor any blood pressure. The baby became limp and doctors could find no signs of life expect a dim heartbeat that was eventually located.
After four minutes of lifelessness, Tracy suddenly began to breath again and so did her son. Within a few minutes, both were fine again.
So what happened?
No-one knows. The doctors cannot find any reason why Tracy would go into cardiac arrest and stop breathing for four minutes only to suddenly come back to life, nor can they account for what happened to baby Coltyn. Why would both mother and baby seemingly die together, to suddenly come back to life at the same time?
One doctor who rushed to help both mother and son, Dr. Stephanie Martin, says that after a full evaluation, no reason has been found. She doesn't know if it was a miracle or not but added that ""Wherever I can get the help, I'll take it."
Tracy's husband, and father of baby Coltyn spoke about his horrifying experience as he sat with his wife during the birth. "I had everything in the world taken from me, and in an hour and a half, I had everything given to me."
Tracy has no memory of what happened, other than feeling tired. Hoping to learn more about near death experiences, Tracy was unable to help doctors who asked. She has no recollection of her 4 minute "death".
Both mother and child are now home and recovering well, joined by a very relived husband and father, and big brother Austin.

First of all, I cannot believe no one else has commented on this, and secondly- WOW!
This account is amazing and it will be very intriguing to here what information comes out of it-- I hope the doctors present are able to find answers.

You know, I believe there were several comments but they seemed to have disappeared! On very rare occasions, technological glitches get the better of us and post and comments are sent too far out into cyber space!
I'm also very intrigued. Remember the movie E.T.? When E.T. got sick, so did the little boy because they had such a strong emotional connection. Now I'm sure what happened was a medical issue but it was such a strange occurrence that one never knows...
I also hope the doctors can find answers. If they do, I'll add in more information to this article. Thanks for your comment!

You know it has been said that when you deliver a baby you are more closer to death then you ever will be in your life. This story is remarkable. There is no doubt that the child's umbilical cord was still attached at the moment his breathing ceased. This is very significant because he was probably dead before her in utero and it was her breath which brought his back....amazing. She has no memory because God is not ready for her to discuss where she traveled and what she saw in those four minutes...but it would not surprise me if at some point later in her life, God restores her memory to discuss her experience. The child absolutely has a divine purpose.
