I had an endometrial cryoblation performed almost a week ago. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced any depression after this procedure? I am tired of being sore and the watery discharge! I would appreciate anyone else's input.

i had the her option (cryoblation) done on april 13,2010 & a touch up done at the same time of my nova sure(eblation, which i had that surgery last april),it has been 6 days since the surgery & still have some cramping ,sometimes worse than others, but my doc.assures me that the procedure will be successful. You're probally wondering why i had to have a touch up in addition to the her option, i have 2 fobroids & 1 cyst on my cervix which caused the nova sure surgery last april to not be so sucessful, but i am hoping that after the watery discharge(defrost) is gone it will be a successful surgery if not ther's only 1 other option & that's a hystorectomy, but doc. & i are keeping our fingers crossed.

I had the procedure done a few months ago, sure the watery discharge is not a good thing to go through, but compared to 8 days of heavy periods, it's a blessing! It took about 4 weeks for me to "defrost"!!! Now, I get a period that lasts almost one day and it's barely anything at all!! LOVE IT!! SO GLAD I HAD IT DONE!!! WOO HOO!!

January 30, 2010 - 1:59pmI had cryoablation done on nov 30. 2009. had a period about 1 month later. horrible cramping for 2 days. this month (right now) have 2nd period post procedure. no cramps but all I do is cry. This has been going on for a week. My dr said the procedure has nothing to do with your hormones but something is very wrong with me. I was never weepy like this before the procedure. i need help.

I read on a pamphlet that the watery discharge lasts up to 3 weeks, I'm sure it is uncomfortable, but hope that things are better for you than they were before...talk to your doctor about any questions you may have. Think positive!! Aren't things better than before?

I had the cryoablation on July 10th, 2009. The procedure itself wasn't too bad. I had cramping during it and for a few days after. But now what is the most annoying side effect is the watery discharge. I have yet to sleep through the night because I get "wet" in the middle of the night. I am trying some new pads that I bought. They are from Always. They are the very large overnight pads. They come in a blue package. So far for 2 nights they have pretty much controlled the wet feeling. I would recommend you try these if you have alot of discharge.
July 20, 2009 - 8:41amAs far as the depression part of it. I have been feeling alot more emotional since the procedure. Not sure what that is about. I came down with an infection a few days after the procedure, so that could be part of it. I still have some pain off and on but I also had to go back to work and I work retail so I am on my feet.
My feeling on the whole procedure is, if the outcome is lighter to no periods then I will go through some discomfort and nasty side effects.

I just had the "Her Option" cryoablation therapy done yesterday, July 8, 2009. The cramping was more severe than I had expected, but like Diane, I too felt a sense of loss. My husband and I have 3 children, and he has already had a vasectomy over 3 years ago, so it's not like we were going to have any more children anyway. But just the finality of it all seems so depressing. I've had terrible periods and PMS symtoms all my life, but worse since my last baby, 6yrs ago. I know it is a good thing to do, especially as another option to hysterectomy, but I felt like I had sinned, somehow, and that I could not forgive myself. The severe pain only made my depression worse, and the pain meds I was given made me sick to my stomach and cause vomiting, so I stayed in pain all day and cried most of the day. Is this normal? Do you think I will feel better emotionally after my physical pain subsides?

I agree w/above - especially if you suffer from depression. Being as you are familiar w/symptoms - I'm guessing like me you do... I think it's the finality of things.. But this is a good thing!!
I have my own question - what can I expect one month, two month - three month out? When will I know for sure? It's been two months for me - pretty heavy - shorter - but closer together... What gives?

I had the procedure done in late December with little to no discomfort. It seemed like I had a bloody discharge for almost a month afterwards, then in February through April I still had heavy, but shorter periods. In May I had a much lighter period (compared to what was normal for me!) In June and so far in July, I can tell when it's time for me to have a cycle, but have only had very very light spotting instead. At this point I am considering my surgery a success!
