Fresh Start Women's Foundation in Phoenix, AZ, will be holding a special event tomorrow, March 10, to recognize National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. There will be free, first-come, first-served child care for up to four hours for children 12 and under.
At the event, women will be provided with HIV/AIDS educational material and resources. There will be a guest speaker as well as a women's forum/discussion afterward that will feature stories of women who have been infected/impacted by HIV and AIDS. The day's primary activities will be from 10:00 a.m. till 3:30 p.m., although the event lasts till 7:00 p.m. HIV testing will be going on all day, and the testing is confidential and completely free. If any women and girls in the Phoenix area feel like they might be at risk for contracting HIV, this is a really good event to attend in order to get free testing as well as preventative information.
