Listen up ladies, if you're looking to buy a new car, you may be interested in a new trend...texting your offer! A growing number of car buyers are now negotiating through text messages to get the price they want.
A number of women (four out of five to be exact) take men with them to buy cars, according to an study conducted by Capital One. By bringing a male with them to the purchase, women feel that they are treated more fairly by the salesperson.
But women may not need to feel at a disadvantage any longer. As many as 25 percent of all car transactions today involve text messaging negotiations, which is up about 5 percent since 2010. Women believe this helps take the emotion out of the car buying process.
Since our mobile devices are used more often now to surf the web, it makes sense that they are being incorporated into the car buying process. Executive Vice President of Swapalease.com, Scot Hall, said it doesn't come as a surprise that smartphones would provide an additional example of how many people adapt their car shopping experience.

I honestly didn't think about using a smart phone to negotiate on a car. Does take the emotion out of it. They also don't know whether it's a man or a woman who's doing the negotiating. Gives us an advantage I would imagine. Thanks for writing this article. Will make me rethink how I purchase my next car.
