I thought this would be a good share since Michael Jackson passed and several news stations said that he passed from a heart attack and others said cardiac arrest. These are two different diagnoses and I thought I would share the differences.
A heart attack occurs when blood flow to a section of heart muscle becomes blocked. If the flow of blood isn’t restored quickly, the section of heart muscle becomes damaged from lack of oxygen and begins to die.
Cardiac arrest is the sudden, abrupt loss of heart function.
