I had a hormone test done, and I'm somewhat confused with the results. I'm on the depo shot and i'm experiencing all signs of low estrogen. I'm 37. Estradiol 1.3 pg/ml, Progestin 29 L pg/ml, Ratio PG/E2 22 L, Testosterone 32 pg/ml, DHEAS 7.3 ng/ml.

Hello Anonymous,
Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us to help you understand the results of the blood tests. You really must schedule an appointment with your gynecologist, who ordered these tests, to discuss the results and how they relate to you.
Each lab report should have a normal range posted for each test done. Look for that on your report. It will aid you in understanding if your values are low, normal or high.
Most estradiol is released from the ovaries and adrenal glands. The normal range for premenopausal women is 30 to 400 pg/mL. Anonymous, it would appear that you have a low estradiol level.
Serum progesterone is a test to measure the amount of progesterone in the blood. Progesterone is a hormone produced mainly in the ovaries. Progesterone levels vary depending on when the test is done. Blood progesterone levels start to rise midway through the menstrual cycle. Normal ranges based upon certain phases of the menstrual cycle. Pre-ovulation is less than 1 ng/mL and mid-cycle is 5 to 20 ng/mL.
