I would like to hear more comments in regards to women who have
been on HRT pellet therapy, specifically did your doctor require
blood work, mammograms, bone density testing? What is the average
replacement time? Does your insurance give you any coverage on
this therapy?

Hi Javanna: Sorry to hear of your delemma. I too had complication fron BHRT pellet therapy. HAIR LOSS!!. Have sooo much worry over losing my hair, it kind of cancels out the reason to have pellets. How sexy can you feel with alot of hair loss brought on by the T. I'd rather deal with the hot flashes. Some women adapt well. Just goes to show you-- every BODY reacts differently. Good luck and God Bless

I am here to update you on my hormone pellets. I have never had any problems. It is great to not be sweating in 113 degree weather. I tried to seek out the most qualified Dr.'s regarding this treatment and care . No, my Ins. does not cover all of this care, but will if lab work is abnormal, it does cover mammo, bone density and paps. Additionally, I stay on top of my care, with routine mammos, consistent lab/blood work, bone density tests, and paps. My experience has well been worth the treatment. Not all Dr.'s endorse this care or tx. I feel this will change down the road. I did not feel comfortable in seeing just a Naturopath as I know many provide "anti-aging" treatments which includes cremes or pellets etc.... This treatment isn't for everyone. However, do your homework and the best of health to all of you ! Sunny.

Wow, sunny - it sounds like something is working right. :)
I know what you mean, though, about the night sweats. I'm pretty much post-menopausal, but still have the sweats, every now and then. Can't stay cool enough or warm enough, yeesh!

I am getting along just fine. The sweats are definately decreasing but not completely gone. My husband says I am in a better mood. Well just to stop the sweating would change anyones attitude. That is just so miserable to do that! I have blood work next week. So will have more info later to see if I actually did change my lab values or if this is just a positive placebo effect? Someone said to me today, " your complexion looks great, you look different!" and they wanted to know what new products I am using on my face. The answer, nothing new, just the same I've always used? I'll take the compliment.

my name is jovanna .I had the pellets put in april 7, 2010 for hot flashes. It did a great job for them. I no longer have hot flashes. My only problem is that I got a terrible bladder infection from it, something called betta hemolytic strep. Its suppose to be an organism tha normally lives in the vaginal area., all the increased secretions cased it to over grow. I had alot of pressure was voiding aleast 4 times in one hour also had cramping and some pain felt nervous and lightheaded and weak. I thought i was feeling this way because i had not taken my prometrium. This occured about a week after having the pellets inserted. My gyno sent me to a urologist he seems to think the sotto-pelle definitely can be causing my bladder problems. I had a renal ultrasound and x-rays done of the bladder and kidneys. I'd rather have the hot flashes back than deal with terrible dyscomforting bladder problems. the bladder problems makes me tired and weak. It will be 4 months august 7th, i seriously feel i want to stop and go back to my old self, at least i knew what was happening to me. I've had about 4 attacks since april. I'm sick of it.

Because I have no personal experience in this matter, here are some resources for information:

I hope this helps.
