Sometimes I think Lupus is just diagnosed when a doctor does not want to get to the bottom of things. I was also diagnosed with Lupus when I was younger because I didn't like the sun! Turns out I don't have it. My dad has Lupus though. He was diagnosed about 15 years ago. He started getting tired and rashes on his face as first symptoms. But it took a long time to diagnose him still. He always has something going on in his body - blood clots, soreness, rashes, pain, swollen stomach, bad joints... Lupus is something that attacks many areas of your body, not just one. My advice - get a second, third, and fourth opinion.

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. There is not one test that confirms a diagnosis of lupus, rather it is a series of blood tests and review of your symptoms. You should contact your doctor again for further testing to confirm the diagnosis. Please visit our lupus page here https://www.empowher.com/condition/lupus/symptoms.
I hope this helps.
Missie
