For many years I lived with a secret struggle few people knew anything about, an eating disorder. I was terrified of food and thought that eating a normal, healthy diet would cause me to gain weight. I thought that being thin meant being happy and I went to great lengths to keep my weight down.
That all changed when I met a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition at a local conference. We started talking and she mentioned she was a holistic health counselor, and proceeded to describe her work to me. Long story short, I don't believe in chance encounters and I knew instantly I was meant to meet this wonderful person and work with her. After completing the 6 month program, I had fallen in love, not only with food but myself and my body. My life has not been the same since. After many years I've maintained the balance I worked 6 months to create. I have a deep and passionate love for food, specifically local and organic food. I am passionate about supporting farmers, and feel that the best food for our bodies, minds and our environment is food that is grown close to home. I also believe we have the responsibility to love and care for our bodies, even if we are to inhabit them only for a short time. I hope to help my clients find the same balance and health that I found, by looking inward and finding what truly nourishes them.
