The Home Safety Council sponsors the Home Safety Awareness Month every June, and honestly, this was the first time it "caught my eye" because I never gave much thought about "home safety" until having a baby. Now, it's all I think about!
There is a great Safety Guide and Checklist for every-possible safety measure you can think of: http://www.homesafetycouncil.org/safety_guide/safetyguide.aspx
What have you done to make your home safer, for either yourself, your family or even guests!

You're right, this is so important. It's easy to get lax on home safety issues as your kids get older, and I was reminded of this recently when I offered to watch a toddler of a friend of mine. I couldn't believe how unsafe my home had become from the perspective of a toddler! And I hadn't even given it a thought when I offered to babysit.
This is a very helpful web site that you've listed. Thanks!
