Hi there! My name is Dr. Heather Synder and I am The Director of Medical and Scientific Operations at the Alzheimer’s Association.
On Thursday, April 17 I will be on the <a href="https://www.empowher.com/herradio”>HER Radio</a> airwaves discussing Woman and Alzheimer’s disease, and the link between diabetes and Alzheimer’s. Through our role in the development of The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation Takes on Alzheimer's in 2010, in conjunction with Maria Shriver, we know that women are the epicenter of Alzheimer's disease, representing majority of both people with the disease and Alzheimer's caregivers.
I will then segway into the newest type of diabetes researchers are finding more information about, type 3 diabetes. This is a title that has been proposed for Alzheimer's disease which results from resistance to insulin in the brain.

Hello Dr. Synder,
This sounds like a very interesting program. Diabetes appears to be linked to so many other health conditions. The link between diabetes and Alzheimer's disease was one that I was not aware of.
