I posted a few weeks ago about how I'm trying the "Ultimate Leg, Butt, Hip and Thigh Makeover" video exercise program that claims to get rid of cellulite, and I have to say that it's actually working. I can't believe it either, because I just figured that the combination of genetics, having had three pregnancies, and a day job of sitting at a desk all day meant that I was doomed to having cellulite on my backside. Now, after 5 weeks of faithfully doing the 1-hour exercise program three times a week, I'm actually seeing the bumpy, dimply cellulite on my butt disappear. I couldn't be more surprised!
This program was developed by Joey Atlas who is now a contributing writer on EmpowHer. His DVD set costs $29, and I believe they're well worth your money. Especially if you're already pouring money into the so-called cellulite busting creams, lotions and clothing that really don't work at all.

Congrats! That's great news!
I don't have cellulite - at least that's visible, (thank god for some mercies, after 3 back-to-back pregnancies!) but I attribute it to deep, regular massage, thanks to my husband. There is no such thing as a cream for cellulite. If it "works", it's the deep massaging action at work, not the cream. How on earth can a cream penetrate all the layers of skin and then infiltrate and break up fat cells? And how can these companies get away with these claims!
I've no doubt the exercise routines are keeping you in great shape, too.
Are you going to post a pic for us, as proof?!

I don't think my husband would approve of a posted pic of my butt (LOL), but I'd be happy to run into you at a beach some time! ;)

Abere, I'm not really sure what you're asking, but if you're interested in some great lower body exercises, I'd recommend Joey's program.
June 29, 2009 - 5:05pmCongratulations Kristin! I know you have been hoping that this program would work for you (although I still say you looked pretty darn amazing to begin with) but that you were also a bit skeptical. Good for you for trying it, sticking with it, and now seeing the results. I am very proud of you. This is interesting too for me because I've read so often that spot-toning is very hard to do, but it sounds like Joey's program does the trick. Way to go! Michelle
June 29, 2009 - 11:06pmThanks for the encouragement, Michelle!! I'd always heard that spot-toning isn't effective, but what I've learned from Joey's program is that you have to do the right exercises, and in the right way, and also the order you do them in makes a difference too. And you have to be consistent -- I think a lot of people give up on spot-toning if they don't see immediate results within a few days. Joey makes it easy, and just doing the exercises three times a week has not been a big deal, even when I'm traveling. I'm thrilled with what I see, and how toned I feel, after just five weeks.
June 30, 2009 - 9:36amHey Kristin, thanks for sharing! This is exactly why I come to EmpowHer. I love it when women share their doctors, resources and in this case, Joey's program and how it worked for you. I've tried all kinds of different lotions, creams and even some of those crazy machines doctors roll over your cellulite. None have worked for me. I'm so excited to try Joey's program. I'm hoping it does the trick for me, like it did for you. Is there a diet component Joey recommends or strictly exercise? Thanks again for sharing!! I'm excited to try this.
June 30, 2009 - 8:44amYou know, at first I was really embarrassed to talk about my cellulite, and hesitated for days before posting about it, but I figured that there have to be many other women out there who are looking for solutions. I was extremely skeptical about Joey's claims to get rid of cellulite, but figured what the heck.... I've seen a lot of creams out there that are way more expensive than his video program, and they're certainly not going to help you get in shape! Now, after seeing how his exercises impact my body after just a few weeks, I laugh when I see a Nivea lotion commercial telling me that merely smoothing on some lotion will help me lose those "lovely" dimples.
Joey does have a nutrition program as well, but I haven't tried it. I may give it a try, though, because often I get so busy that I forget to eat as healthy as I should with every single meal.
June 30, 2009 - 9:30amHow often are you doing the exercise and for how long?
July 6, 2009 - 11:50amHi there! I do Joey's lower body exercises three times a week and they take about an hour to do. He also has a short, 10-minute version that sometimes I go through once or twice if I'm short on time.
