Hi, Daniel! Glad you joined the conversation. (How did you find us all the way from the UK? I actually went to university over there, by the way :)

I'm actually not interested in weight loss at all -- what I'm interested in, and what's working with this targeted exercise program, is toning and firming the muscles underneath the cellulite so that my skin will appear smoother in those "problem cellulite" lower body areas. And these exercises are totally working, which is the coolest thing. I've tried plenty of aerobic exercise as well as weight lifting and nothing had the effects on cellulite that I'm seeing with this approach.

This is such great information! I can't wait to start Joey's program.

I have learned so much from reading all your posts. I have to try Joey's program. My biggest issue is finding time to fit everything into my busy schedule. Anyone have any programs on Time Management that work like Joey's program seems to? I feel overwhelmed with all I have on my plate and I am hating my body. I used to be so slim and trim, but now "not so much". I find myself being very undisciplined these days. I start the morning thinking today's the day where I change my life and begin to focus on me, my health, eating and exercise. But, by the end of the day, I've gone right back to my old habits. Where does one get the will power to follow through. It seems I get on this roller coaster...up and down. I start out with good intentions and then I have a sugar craving and off I go to get something sweet to eat to boost my energy. I need a complete overhaul..body and mind.

Sorry to ramble on but I want to understand from all of you who are exercising, how you've become so disciplined. Was it always like that for you? Is this a new learned behavior? Can you share your secrets with me on how to value yourself more?

I don't need to be model thin, I just want to feel good in my clothes and have some muscle tone. I look like a bowl of jello. Everything is shaking...Even things I didn't know could shake are shaking. But more importantly...I need to feel good in my mind and heart that I can be my own best advocate. Can someone help me?? Is Joey's program the first step or the 5th?

Struggling

Hi, Anon! I totally hear you on the time management issue!! It's really hard to squeeze everything into a day and can be so overwhelming. I don't know how exactly, but I've always been disciplined about exercise ever since I was a teenager. It's just always been an important part of my life, especially as a much-needed outlet. And it makes me feel so good. Not only do I have more energy when I exercise, but I feel good about myself and my self esteem is higher. Exercise is a high priority on my list, up there with eating and sleeping.

I've gotten so programmed into having exercise as part of my daily routine that it's weird for me to go through a day not exercising in some way. For example, my family went on a vacation over the 4th of July weekend and we were so busy that I went for four straight days without exercising. Granted I played on the beach with the kids, walked a ton around Sea World and went on rides at the County Fair, so it wasn't like I wasn't active. But, when I got back home, it felt really good to do my exercise program again and to work up a good sweat.

Lately I've been spending my lunch hour going to the gym. I go through a short version of Joey's exercises that takes me 30 minutes to do. I really like that break in the day and it's nice at the gym because I go into a quiet room off of the women's locker room that has a tv, so I'll watch whatever's on at the time and just zone out while I'm going through the exercises. I'm usually the only one in there. Before I know it, I'm done with my workout -- the 30 minutes flies by. Then I get back to the office, finish my day and have the evening open to spend time with my family.

I think maybe one thing you could try is designating a certain 30-minute period during your day, whether it means waking up 30 minutes earlier than usual, or using your lunch break, or while your kids are napping -- whatever time period works for you -- and making that commitment that it will be your exercise "me" time.

Thanks for the great tips and for getting back to me so quickly, Kristin. Do you really, really see a difference in your cellulite? It's interesting since you've always exercised that you even have cellulite? I thought cellulite was something some women get and others are blessed with the "non cellulite" gene. My body is starting to look just like my mothers. Does your mom have cellulite?
