Hey, I am about to turn 13 and I am having the worst craps ever. My mom keeps saying it will get better but it hurts more and more. The other day my family and I were eating out and I couldn't even eat it hurt so bad. When I got home I took two pills to try and stop the pain but it didn't work. I am now laying in my bed drinking hot tea and it slowly easing the pain. But it is coming back and it still hurts and the tea is only easing some pain. Please help.

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
January 31, 2016 - 9:28pmSince it is so common to have horrid cramping during teenage years, many doctors suggest taking birth control to reduce cramping and regulate the hormones. I suggest you see a gynecologist to find more solutions to decrease the pain.
If you cannot see a gynecologist you may want to try taking over-the-counter pain medication such as Advil before the cramps begin. Sometimes it can prevent pain better if caught before they become too painful.
