Sexual Health Quiz: Test Your Knowledge on this "Dry" Subject!
1. How would you describe/define the following terms?
- Dry Humping
- Dry Sex
- Dry Intercourse
2. What specific behaviors am I engaging in if I do any of the following?
- Dry Humping
- Dry Sex
- Dry Intercourse
3. Can you "get" pregnant from any of the following sexual activities?
- Dry Humping
- Dry Sex
- Dry Intercourse
4. Can you spread or contract an STI/STD from any of the following sexual behaviors? (STI/STD = sexually transmitted infections or diseases)
- Dry Humping
- Dry Sex
- Dry Intercourse
ANSWERS:
1. Dry= No Bodily Fluid Contact
The word "dry" means that there is no bodily fluid exchange or contact, including fluids or lubrication from the penis, vagina, anus or mouth. These specifically can include pre-ejaculatory fluid ("pre-cum"), ejaculatory fluid or "ejaculation" or "cum", vaginal lubrication or vaginal secretions.
"Dry humping" and "dry sex" can be summed up by using the term: "outercourse".
There is actually no such thing as "dry intercourse", as penetration can never be considered a "dry" activity as there is natural lubrication from your body that is considered a "bodily fluid".
2. Outercourse can include:
- massaging, touching
- masturbation
- body rubbing, humping or "going through motions" of sex while fully clothed (genitals are fully covered)...most commonly called "dry humping"
Outercourse can not include:
- penetration of penis into vagina, anus or mouth
- body rubbing while clothed, but some "slippage" of clothing (underwear, specifically)
- ejaculation near vagina, even while covered, with chance of semen spilling over clothing
3. No, Outercourse would not lead to pregnancy
As explained above, outercourse does not involve the contact or exchange of any bodily fluids, and therefore, would not create a risk for pregnancy
4. Yes, Outercourse may still carry the risk of spreading or contracting an STI/STD
The word "dry" is important when talking about pregnancy and STIs/STDs, as Outercourse is a Good Safer Sex Option, but is not 100% "safe".
Safer Sex is any sexual behavior that reduces your risk for infection or pregnancy. Although most STDs/STIs are spread through exchange of bodily fluids, some are transmitted from skin-to-skin contact (meaning: you don't have to have intercourse/penetration to become infected with an STD/STI). The skin-to-skin contact through outercourse can be a risk for STD/STI.
Lastly,
What are the Benefits of Outercourse (for two consenting adults?)
- Pleasurable form of sexual expression and intimacy
- Type of "safer sex" without need for contraception (for pregnancy prevention)
- Lower risk for contracting or spreading STIs or STDs (sexually transmitted infections or diseases)
- No risk for pregnancy
- It can be a sexual behavior that is pleasurable, exciting and not stress-inducing (from the point of view of women, wondering if they are pregnant)

Please help!! I'm so stressed out now. 19 days ago I had dry sex with my bf. I still had my underwear on and he was naked. He ejaculated outside me. My underwear was wet. We were standing at that time. It happened about 5 days before my period. I still had my period but it was less than usual. About 10 days after having dry sex I took the pregnancy test and it was negative, 5 days later I took it again it was still negative, today it's been 19 days since I did that I took the test again it was still negative. Can I be pregnant? The thing is days ago I saw a linea nigra on my belly! I don't know if it's a sign of being pregnant or not. Please help me. I'm so scared. I have never had real sex before.

Please answer! So my boyfriend dry humps me. Then after the "session" we went to tge office at work then I realized my jeans are somewhat moist. I asked him seriously if he ejaculated during humping and he said no. I was wearing underwear and jeans while he is also wearing his jeans and underwear. Then my side abdomen hurts like cramps when I am undergoing menstryal cycle. Am I pregnant?

Please help. I'm really worried. Me and boyfriend did dry humping last 23rd and 24th of February. IT WAS MY OVULATION PERIOD. I was wearing an underwear and thin shorts and he was also wearing an underwear and thin shorts too.can sperm travel to thin clothing? I'm not sure if he came or not, but I think he was. Now, I'm 5days late for my menstruation. I usually due on the 7th of the month. But last month I had my menstruation on Feb10-14, that was the first time it happened. Its already 12th of March. I still don't have menstruation. I'm very worried about this because I came from a very fertile family. I now experience some early symptoms like tender breasts, headaches, gas pains and sensitivity to odors . Could I possibly be pregnant? Please help me to lessen my worries. Thank you in advance.

Hi i handjob my boyfriend with my clothes on, specifically shorts, panty and panty liner. will there be a chance that the sperm might travel inside my vagina? I'm so scared. this is the first time i did this to him. he said that i shouldn't get paranoid because he's 100% sure that it is impossible since i have my clothes on and the semen is transparent meaning it only contains small sperm. he also didn't finger me and i'm sure that only my hand was able to touch his semen. will there be a possibility of being pregnant because of what happened? i just really need an assurance. this happened two weeks after the start of the day of my period. please answer me. thank you.

Ok,so, last wednesday and thursday i had unprotected sex for the first time. My boyfriend did not ejaculate inside of me but im kind of worried. I dont know if i was on ovulation. My last period started on the 18th of february and finished on the 24th. Is there a possibility of pregnancy even with precum fluids? My biggest worry is that sperm went out before the ejaculation.

If you were both wearing your underwear you'll be fine, sperm can't get through clothes, my girlfriend was naked and I had my underwear on and she didnt get pregnant. you can relax!

Hi I was recently at a club grinding on a guy, my butt was on his penis. He was wearing jeans and underwear and I was wearing cotton shorts and a lace thong. Is there any chance of pregnancy if he did cum?

I have a question here, regarding the topic, if I hump a guy but we both rub our genitals together but I get off as soon as he says he's about to ejaculate, does that put any danger affecting pregnancy or losing virginity? One of my friends did that and continued the process with a hand job until he ejaculated and she's 2 months late on period and she's worried she might be pregnant.

Hi Anonymous,
If your friend has not gotten a period in two months, she needs to take a home pregnancy test and see a physician, if the test result is negative.
