Today it rained pretty much the entire day. I was exhausted from traveling yesterday, so I ended up resting a good majority of the day. Kathy went out to explore the resort (which is huge) and unfortunately, ended up slipping on the wet ground and injured her back. She is ok, but there is a very large bruise and scratched red area from where she fell.
I finally left the room early evening to head for dinner. The hotel has seven restaurants, but apparently only five are included in the cost of the hotel. Kathy learned that the themed restaurants are very hard to get reservations for and typically one has to reserve 48 hrs in advance. There are two buffets that guests can eat at almost anytime so that’s where we spent dinner. As expected, the food was mediocre and didn’t even compare to the buffet restaurant Carol and I went to in Queenstown.
After dinner we went to the outside lounge area and had a cocktail while watching a fire show. There was a band playing and then some sort of house music mix that went along with the spinning flames of fire. The show was only about half an hour and afterwards we went to another show Grease. Many of these all inclusive resorts have plenty of entertainment available and this hotel is no exception. It’s funny because they have these activity coordinators whose job is to lead pool games and dancing classes during the day and at night perform on stage. The show was lip synched to the actual sound track, but the dancing and music was cute and entertaining.
Tomorrow we are meeting up with Dad and Barb at the clinic. I’m not sure why they have to go, but I need to get a refill of Arixtra for my blood clot. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to get a refill prior to leaving. My care manager did email me a synopsis and med list so hopefully it won’t be to difficult to obtain. It’s important that I have this, especially for the plane home. We don’t have anything set in stone for afterwards, but we are thinking of staying a night in Playacar or Playa Del Carmen and then head to Cozumel. We are flying out of Cozumel so it makes more sense to spend another night here before heading to the island. I am just praying that it doesn’t rain again tomorrow. It would be fun to rent a jeep and explore some of the coast. I guess we’ll see.
