I just read about Steve Job's health issue on pcworld.com. Apparently his health has been declining as he has experienced dramatic weight loss. Doctors have determined that he has a hormone imbalance. You can read about it here:

This story is still in the news.... it was in The New York Times today. You're right, Diane, the photos of Steve are shocking. I can't believe how much weight he has lost. His hormone imbalance is described as being one where his proteins in his body are quickly being depleted. I can't imagine how scary this must be to be wasting away like this. I hope his medical team can figure this out, and soon!

This is a Los Angeles Times story on Jobs as well. The pictures that show him in Nov. of 2007 and Nov. of 2008 are startling:

In 2004, Jobs said he had undergone surgery to treat a rare form of pancreatic cancer, and the major worry as he grew more gaunt was that the cancer had returned. Medical experts said a hormone imbalance in a pancreatic cancer survivor "raises red flags about a possible recurrence."
Jobs says he is undergoing treatment for the hormonal imbalance and hopes to gain weight by spring.
