Today, Sylvia Lasalandra Frodella's book, "Mommy were you happy the day I was born?" was honored with a Mom's Choice Award!®. Her book was named among the best in family-friendly media, products and services. Described as an inspirational/motivational book, Sylvia's tender story of a mother answering a most delicate question posed by her precious child will be featured on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other reputable book-sellers.
"Mommy were you happy the day I was born?" is the first-ever book written for children whose mothers may have suffered from PPD. The story helps readers understand that the wall of depression which may temporarily separate a mother from her emotions for her newborn is no match for the eventual triumph of maternal love.
Sylvia's first book, "A Daughter's Touch", which chronicles her experiences with PPD, brought inspiration to many women in the throes of these devastating illnesses. With "Mommy, were you happy the day I was born?", we find celebration in the reunion of spirit and heart between mother and child when healing replaces suffering.
Congratulations Sylvia, with this award you bring further constructive, compassionate attention to the issue of postpartum mood disorders and hope to families navigating this darkness.
