Treating Sciatica pain without surgery
Sciatica is a term that refers to the pain because of irritation or problems in the sciatic nerve which happens to be the longest single nerve in the human body. It spans the distance from the lower back to the lower limb. Some of the most common symptoms of sciatica include:
• Pain in areas such as the buttocks and lower back
• Weakness in various areas of the leg and foot
• Pins and needles sensation and
More often than not, people suffering from sciatica are advised to go in for surgery. But, leading pain relief centres in Singapore have made huge advances in the treatment of sciatica and offer a viable and successful option of treating sciatica pain without surgery.
How is this done?
There is no general answer to this question because pain relief centres in Singapore are all about customized solutions. Therefore by looking at the website of such treatment centres, you should be able to approach them with your particular set of symptoms and they will design a customized and non-invasive or nonsurgical solution for you.
More often than not, the solution will depend on factors such as:
• Your particular set of symptoms
• The degree of pain, numbness or weakness that you have
• Presence of sensations or tingling in your body and so on.
Other factors
Sometimes, sciatica is also caused by factors such as:
• Fractures
• Osteoarthritis
• Tumours
• Spondylosis and so on.
Therefore, a doctor can design or non-invasive treatment plan for sciatica only after diagnosing and assessing the factors causing the pain condition.
Conventional treatment
Mostly, sciatica patients are put through conventional treatment consisting of a set of medicines, injections, surgery, physiotherapy, and in some cases changes in diet and lifestyle as well. When the focus is on treating sciatica pain without surgery, it becomes a question of bringing together traditional and accepted treatment methodologies and proven technological solutions which work on patented methods.
Scientific or clinical support
Such nonsurgical treatment methods for sciatica have also been supported by various clinical studies. This goes a very long way in helping a patient develop a lot of confidence in the treatment and trust the doctor and the clinic itself to do a great job.
Thus, not all sciatica pain relief solutions are surgical. With the advent of new technologies and proven systems of treatment, people can indeed opt for a non-invasive and successful treatment methodology for even long-standing sciatica pain and enjoy a great deal of relief from it.

I have suffered from sciatica for years. I have had injections, pain meds, and PT. The Periformis Exercises were the best treatment I ever got. The Periformis muscle is a very large muscle underneath the sciatic nerve and often causes sciatica pain. There are a set of exercises that, when done regularly, truly help relieve the pain. They stretch that muscle and relaxes it so that it eases the pressure on the sciatic nerve. It might be something to try. It has sure helped me. You can Google it and find many of the exercises.
