I developed Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) nine years ago after a dental injection damaged the Maxillary branch of my Trigeminal nerve and caused "lightning strike" pain, "electric shock" pain, "dagger stab" pain, "bee sting" pain, "boiling water burn" pain, "icepick" pins and needles pain, numbness and tingling along the route of the Maxillary nerve, right side of face. Pain levels varied from low 2 - 3 up to the stabs and shocks at 8 +. Eating/chewing, cleaning my teeth, washing my face, even talking could be hell. I self diagnosed, and self treated. I would never consider taking the damaging drug meds prescribed for TN. They have very long lists of often common nasty side effects and carry "black box" warnings. I had researched the use of B12 Methylcobalamin in my professional work, and knew it had been a first line treatment for many years of neuropathic pain. I began using 5000 mcg strength Methylcobalamin sublingual pellets which dissolve under the tongue and are absorbed directly into the bloodstream in seconds. One a day, half hour after breakfast. Within a few weeks I felt a slight but definite reduction in pain levels and frequency. By twelve weeks I was 80 % pain free, and now I am 90 % + pain free, and often go weeks without any pain whatsoever. Close to remission.
It is not a miracle cure as TN is not a single "one size fits all" disease, but a complicated, variable and individual condition with many causes, but I have posted my experience across several Facebook support groups and many members who started to use it too are having significant pain relief for all types and causes of TN/Facial pain including compression. So it is very worth trying. But not just any B12. It has to specifically be Methylcobalamin sublingual and 5000 mcg. I use Solgar brand, but Jarrow is recommended also. And best to dissolve the whole thing, not dissolve for thirty seconds then swallow as often directed. This is about using B12 Methyl as a medication, not as a supplement. It does not matter if your B12 levels are normal. It is water soluble and considered so safe and non toxic that there are no upper safety limits in most countries. And anyhow the usual B12 serum test is notoriously inaccurate as B12 works at a cellular level and needs a B12 cellular test. I also balance it with a mega multivitamin and mineral supplement and a moderate Ketogenic combined with Mediterranean diet foods and also Turmuric/Curcumin. I get Magnesium in my multi supplenient as not advisable to exceed the recommended 350mg for women as it can be toxic. Any sign of nausea and/or diarrhoea with Magnesium is an early sign of toxicity. My food is mostly organic so I ingest as few neurotoxins as possible. This holistic non drug med approach is giving the body the tools to help itself heal and restore.

Thanks for sharing your success story and I found it very interesting. However, I do have question for the author on the length of duration (weeks) the B12 methylcobalamine sublingual should be taken? and how to taper down when the TN starts to remiss? Thanks in advance for additional sharing.
