I am a CRONE, in fact I held my CRONING Ceremony, May 5, 1995 in Sedona. My life has been a path filled with many rocks and turns. I want to share with others and help them on their path.... I would divide my life into several parts: Before I lost Mother; life between 30-54; Life after 55; life after my mastectomy 65; my life now at 70 and what I expect! would YOU too like to share?

Princeline,
Are you saying you are a Crone, in that mean witch or hag way?! I hope not! Stick with 'grumpy old lady'! :)
You've been through a lot in your life. I suppose when we all get to a certain age we'll think back and wonder how we got through some of our challenges.
I guess my life is before my mother died (like you, it affects little girls more than any other event in my opinion) then onto later childhood/teen years. A crazy decade of late teens/20s with living in many different places, university, home ownership and a few awful boyfriends! Then into marriage and parenthood (and moving yet again!) in my 30s.
Now I just turned 40. I have never, ever been busier but I love it. I loved my 30s and thought it'd be downhill from there but being 40 is wonderful. I have confidence, a career that grows every month and a family to die for. I also have great friends and travels to look back on and look forward to. I would like things to slow down a bit more so I can enjoy it all (and a babysitter would be a dream) but it's one crazy ride right now with endless opportunities.
You said you are now 70 and I love that you have expectations. Can you tell us what they are? What you think life might have in store for you?

Princeline,
I love your share and your spirit. Thank you so much for writing.
I'm particularly interested in why you draw a stage-of-life line between 54 and 55. What did you experience or learn after 55 that wasn't there before 54? (I am 52 and am very interested!!!!)
April 9, 2010 - 9:29amSusan, loved your comments and Diane yours as well. Crone to me is the WISE ONE, the Elder in the Circle of Life...HAPPY to now be able to be who and whatever, not concerned with others judgement...For me life really began and took a wonderful step at 55: Due to finances I was forced to return to school, learn computers and then enter the work field in my orginal position of secretary...now called adm. asst.. More rocks/turns/curves but I made it and then that day in early May when my worst fear was realized, YOU HAVE BREAST CANCER....the surgery and again, I was not going to give in or up...I had just applied for my dream position, working for the GOVERNOR...so back to work and within the month transferred to GOV ofc...and I had planned to work until at least next Jan...but so much for planning, the state budget trumped me, and due to tlhat I'm retired as of Nov. last year...now I must do something in order to give my life meaning, to again contribute to this wonderful world we live in! So I am going to take couple of classes in things I like, i.e. essential oils, etc...meditate and give thought to what I can do to be of service....I don't want to leave this world without having made a difference, or at least have tried!!!!!
