Taking a look at the bigger picture often can show the root of these problems can actually be one or more food intolerances. If the symptoms mentioned above along with potential other symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, poor complexion or skin, trouble losing or gaining weight or digestion issues are common in your daily life it might be useful to take a look at your diet and consider a food intolerance.

Food Poisoning

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, food poisoning occurs about 76 million times per year and results in about 5,000 deaths.

Food poisoning is quite common and typically displays similar symptoms to the flu. In fact, often times the two are indistinguishable. Symptoms of food poisoning include nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, diarrhea and even fever and chills can occur. These symptoms typically present themselves within 48 hours of consuming the contaminated food or beverage.

Dealing with Lactose Intolerance in Infants

How do you know your baby is lactose intolerant? Lactose intolerance, like peanut allergies, is a relatively new health phenomenon. The topic first came to public light with the airing of Lactaid commercials a number of years ago. But, it is easier for adults to describe symptoms (these will be covered in a separate article) to their doctors and have their doctor or nutritionist diagnose for them. But, how can you tell if your baby may be lactose intolerant?

Is Salt Bad or Not?

The media changes its stories from one season to the other. A few years ago, tea was not good to drink due to its caffeine content. Now it is good due to its high antioxidant content. Ginko biloba was the potential cure for memory loss but now we find it also has side effects like increased bleeding and heart palpitations. What about salt?

Hepatitis C is an inflammation of the liver caused by the spherical, enveloped single-strand RNA virus. The World Health Organization estimated 170 million individuals worldwide are infected with the hepatitis C virus (HCV). In the U.S., HCV accounts for 20% of all cases of acute (severe and of short duration) hepatitis, an estimated 30,000 new acute infections, and 8000 to 10,000 deaths annually. Chronic (long term) hepatitis C is predominately transmitted by percutaneous (through the skin) exposure to infected blood.

Pancreatic Cancer -- It Started With a Stomach Ache
