Are You At Risk For Ovarian Cancer? Get Informed

Article provided by the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance

Ovarian cancer is a growth of malignant cells that begins in a woman’s ovaries. There is no early detection test or a cure, which makes ovarian cancer the deadliest disease of the female reproductive system. When detected and treated early, the five year survival rate is greater than 90%. However, fewer than 20% of women are diagnosed in the early stages because the symptoms are often overlooked or misdiagnosed. Until there is a detection test, awareness of ovarian cancer symptoms is a woman’s best defense.

Bio-Identical Hormones

I didn't need to have a hearing aid sitting in my hairdressers chair to hear all the hype about bio-identical hormones and how great these women were feeling! I mean that is where women talk about everything from relationships to health conditions to Botox. They were excited, glowing and I wondered why? Was it some new facial or something?

Fibroid Surgery

I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids last year. I had three of them, one the size of a grapefruit. I had the surgery and all went well although I don't do pain medication well at all and therefore, had to spend an extra day in the hospital. I thought I was having a reoccurrence about six months ago. Call me crazy, but I lost the extra twelve pounds I was carrying around (I'm only 5'2", small boned, so that is a substantial amount for me), and my fibroid symptoms have virtually disappeared. I also found meditation has helped me immensely.
