Have you ever gone to the doctor with all the symptoms of hypothyroidism and are told your labs are “normal?” What if they were technically normal but not exactly optimal? That’s called sub-clinical hypothyroidism and it too can cause a whole host of problems.

So by now we know that it is very important to let our doctors know if we have thyroid problems upon becoming pregnant. Just as a reminder, if thyroid conditions remain unchecked during pregnancy, it could result in the following health problems for you as the mother: pre-eclampsia and/or early labor, placental abnormalities or prolonged and unusual bleeding after delivery.

Has Anyone Ever Been Told to Take Their Temperature to Check Their Thyroid?

I was just told today by a very close friend of mine to take my temperature in the morning before I get out of bed.
She said it would help me detect a thyroid disorder.
Has anyone ever heard of this?
Did did it work for you?

What should my next step be with my thyroid issue?

When I got my thyroid tested a couple of months ago, my TSH levels were at 3.67. When I went to my naturopath, she said that I had a borderline thyroid problem.

Hello, I've been prescribed Synthroid for hypothyroidism. How much time after taking the pill is it safe to eat breakfast that includes considerable iron/calcium content (oat bran with yogurt)?

I have read that 1 hour after taking the pill should be enough for absorption, however, that multivitamins containing iron and calcium should only be taken at least 4 hours before or after.
