My Shiny New Suit for Spine Alignment

Written by Melissa Waller on April 3, 2009 - 11:14am

Today started off with a minor surgery to get ready for the big spinal surgery tomorrow. I was taken down to the operating room to get my “umbrella” injected into my leg vein so that in case any blood clots try to mosey up to my lungs during the surgery/recovery then it will be stopped before I have a pulmonary embellism.

Positively Positive

Written by Lisa Woody on July 30, 2009 - 8:26am

Overall, this has been a much better week than last. I really have only one complaint, so we’ll get that out of the way early. Navelbine stops my gastrointestinal tract dead. I am still fine tuning my combination of stool softener and laxatives to try to keep things moving but not by way of painful cramps and explosive you-know-what. It’s weird. It’s not just constipation - everything stops. I get bloating and heartburn after I eat, and later on, lower abdominal bloating and pain. Right now I’m taking Colace and Senna and Miralax.

Home Again and Tired After Chemo

Written by Melissa Waller on March 6, 2009 - 2:45pm

Yesterday was my first round of Chemo. As I mentioned in earlier posts, the docs had found a blood clot in my leg and my lung. I remained in the hospital to make sure my I&R levels (having to do with the viscosity of the blood) were between 2-3.

End of Active Treatment?

Written by Lisa Woody on July 16, 2009 - 7:48am

Well, it’s been a week. To make a long story short, last week’s Navelbine just kicked my butt. I felt awful Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday. Saturday I got some sort of weird reprieve that let me play Mario Brothers on my daughter and son-in-law’s Wii when they came up for a visit.

What Is Lung Cancer Anyway?

Written by Melissa Waller on February 25, 2009 - 1:11pm
