- Getting treatment for depression and hypothyroidism
- Staying mentally active by doing things like memory exercises, crossword puzzles, reading, taking classes
- Getting regular exercise
- Participating in social activities
- Reducing stress
- Getting help for emotional problems
- Eating a healthful diet
