Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and the Psychiatrist

The counselor I saw about my hypochondria and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), scheduled an appointment for me with a psychiatrist who specializes in the disorder(s). After waiting for a very long time, I finally had the appointment!

I had decided that I wanted my shrink to be a woman, because I would feel more comfortable with her and sure enough, in January, I finally met my psychiatrist face to face. She was young, (I am middle aged), and from a spanish speaking country in South America. I found her to be rather strict the first time we met.

Relieving Stress, Depression Through Massage

Massage has come a long way from the days when you had to go to a health club to find one and pay a ton of money to get one. Nowadays many of us routinely get massaged at massage clinics or other places dedicated to high quality massages. Massage can be very useful for those of us dealing with sore and tired muscles and/or sports injuries.

April is National Autism Awareness Month, and the Centers for Disease Control reported that in 2006, one in 110 children in the U.S. on average had an autism spectrum disorder. This data came from 11 sites involved in the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network (ADDM).
