PMS/PMDD
PMS (premenstrual syndrome) and PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) are defined by a series of physical and emotional symptoms that occur in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, which is the two-week timeframe between ovulation and menstruation. PMS affects as many as 75% of menstruating women and PMDD, a very severe form of PMS, is said to affect 5% of menstruating women.
